Pure Kitchen is a local Ottawa chain of vegan and vegetarian restaurants and cold pressed juice bars. They have 4 locations across Ottawa but the one I went to was the centretown location on Elgin, the location is bright and inviting with windows making up the entire storefront. With all the staff outfitted in punny veggie related t-shirts and 2 different areas of the restaurant- one more typical sit down restaurant and the other with bar seating- Pure Kitchen really looks like what most people would picture when they hear "vegetarian restaurant".
While Pure Kitchen is sold as a vegetarian and vegan restaurant it appeals to more people than just those who don't eat meat products. For me, after a couple nights in a row of drinking or a few days of living off ramen noodles and KD I crave vegetables and Pure Kitchen is the place I think to go to. They often update their entire menu, but typical to most restaurants they'll have a daily soup selection and a weekly taco. These frequent changes make Pure Kitchen a great place to go back to again and again.
Atmosphere
Pure Kitchen is a casual place to grab a meal, not too intimidating for a first date and a good place to sit and catch up with friends over food. Overall Pure Kitchen is a comfortable place, natural light and simple decor, while it may get a little crowded during their busier times it's always reliable. There's not much to say about Pure Kitchen's atmosphere that isn't covered by the descriptor of comfortable, you'll have a good meal, nice service and a chance to socialize with whoever you go with. This is a place that is great for a meal out on your own or a relaxed celebration with a large group of friends, as long as everyone has an open mind Pure Kitchen will be a place to satisfy all types of people
Not many places do vegan and vegetarian food as well as Pure Kitchen, all their dishes are tasty, well balanced and fresh. Colorful dishes are always nice to look at and all their appetizers are great options for sharing, with 4 locations in Ottawa any one you go to will be sure to satisfy.
